How to say Peak Hour/Rush Hour in Korean?

Seoul is a populated megacity. If you are going to Seoul, you may want to avoid the morning and evening rush hour especially in the metro where you’ll probably be squeeze like sardine. So, how do we say “rush hour” or “peak hour” in Korean?

출퇴근 시간

Pronounce as : chul-twi-geun si-gan

here’s some tips to remember this phrase (esp. if you can understand Chinese characters)

출근 (出勤) : going to work

퇴근 (退勤): off from work

시간 (時間): time; hour

Therefore 출퇴근 시간 literally means ” going for work, off from work hour”
